WILTSHIRE College in Trowbridge is celebrating the launch of the south west's first ever call centre training school by offering the first course for just £5.
The four-week course, which starts in January, would normally cost £99.
Call centre manager, Helen Quilliam, said: "The call centre has been set up to assist local people and local companies to ensure that a skilled workforce is available to fill the growing number of call centre operative vacancies created in the south west every month."
The college offers evening classes as well as day classes run in school hours to allow parents of school children to attend.
It has made this move in response to the rapid growth of the call centre industry, which now employs nearly 2 million people.
Mrs Quillian said: "Virgin alone look to recruit 25 people a month so trainees should certainly be in demand in the workplace."
