TROWBRIDGE continued their recent run of good form with another league win over rivals Bridport.
Trowbridge produced a determined display to run out comfortable winners against a side they had never beaten away in a match where the final score line did not reflect the supremacy Trowbridge had throughout the game.
In the first half, despite having all the territorial advantage and the majority of possession, Trowbridge were unable to convert pressure into points and three scoring chances were missed through a combination of Trowbridge's will to over complicate play and a resolute home side defence.
The first half finished with honours even and Trowbridge's only score was a penalty from fly half Sean Sullivan.
In the second half Trowbridge made tactical changes to their pack and the front row of Chris Ney, Adie Moodie and Simon Thompson powerfully dominated in all scrums.
With the opposition going backwards in every scrum, Trowbridge had the platform they needed to secure a well deserved victory.
Due to this pressure the home side were unable to break out of defence and despite hitting the post twice with penalties and failing to ground a ball over the try line Trowbridge's victory was never in doubt and further scores were added by Sean Sullivan (penalty) and Paul Hanlon (try).
