PARISHIONERS in Lechlade will be raising the rafters at St Lawrence's Church tonight in aid of the building's restoration appeal.
The church, which has been raising money for restoration for the past ten years, needs £150,000 to carry out further work, mainly to repair windows. The concert, which starts in the 15th century wool church at 7.30pm, features Handel's Messiah and Christmas carols.
The programme is being performed by a 40-strong choir and an orchestra of 20. Soloists are Tracy Hansford (soprano), Sylvia Strange (mezzo), Owen McNair (tenor) and Christopher Michelmore (bass). Tickets cost £6 (concs £3) and are available at Lechlade News or on the door.
