IT is easy to take for granted the work of those who ensure our safety.
We expect our roads to be gritted. We expect police to be at hand late at night to deal with drink-related disturbances.
Today we highlight the work of the people who make this possible. People like Mick Liddiard who has braved atrocious weather to fight our icy roads for the last 25 years. People like PCs James Hine and James Buton, who are part of the team who patrol the town centre late at night.
They would say they are simply doing their job, but thanks to their professionalism Swindon is a safer place to live and travel.
