Robbie Lardner's dream of silverware lives on, after his Melksham side cruised into the last 16 of the Les Phillips Cup.

Melksham booked their safe passage after trouncing sorry Division One strugglers Wellington 7-0.

It took Lardner's boys a while to get going, but once Dean Ranger fired them ahead on 28 minutes, the floodgates duly opened.

Matty Messenger headed Town 2-0 up before the break, and brother Justin rattled home number three after 54 minutes.

Matty Messenger completed his brace on the hour, before Jeremy Christopher crashed a spot-kick against the bar.

But normal service was quickly resumed when Matt Bown netted two in three minutes to make it six.

Wellington themselves missed a penalty at the death, before Bown wrapped up his hat-trick with a fierce drive.

Melksham now face a home tie with fellow Premier Division side Dawlish.
