Last season's Premier Division champions Cricklade Town chalked up only their second victory of the season when they defeated fellow strugglers Malmesbury Vics Reserves 2-0.

Cricklade started well with Ian Ross hitting the bar, Paul Tranter missing a one on one with the keeper and Ross shooting wide from a good position.

After the break Tranter pounced on a mistake by a Vics defender to put the visitors in the lead, Ian Ross set up Tranter for a second shortly after and Mark Williams missed a one on one with the keeper.

Cricklade sat back on their lead, though, and stand-in keeper Steve Swaddon made a couple of good stops to deny the Vics.

Frost took its toll on the Skurrays Wiltshire League programme with half of the scheduled fixtures being postponed.

One Premier Section game to get the go-ahead was at Corsham where the home side were beaten 2-0 by visitors Biddestone. Elliott Williams got his side off to a good start finding the net after just 10 minutes. Corsham fought back and missed chance after chance before Will Edwards made sure of the victory by adding a second for Biddestone late on.

The only other game to survive in the Premier section was at Aldbourne where the home side gained valuable points in a 3-0 win over Purton Reserves.

Aldbourne took an interval lead from a Danny Morton penalty after Russell Hunt was fouled in the box and Gavin Barron added a second, chipping the keeper after receiving a good ball from Steve Hewitt. Hewitt then added his name to the score sheet by netting with a 25-yarder that flew over the Purton keeper's head to make certain of victory.

Aldbourne Reserves made sure it was a good day for the club by beating Purton 3-2. Pat O'Driscoll, Pete Day and Simon Keen were on target for Aldbourne and Mark Cutter netted twice for Purton.

In the intermediate section Ashton Keynes drew level on points with leaders Blundson Utd when they beat visitors Calne Town Reserves by 4-2. Martin Curtis and Johnny Dixon gave the home side a 2-0 lead, Chris Brown with a third just before the break.

Matt Charlton scored a fourth from the edge of the box midway through the second half, Calne adding a second in the closing minutes.Paul Jackson and Dale Smith were their scorers.

Biddestone Reserves took a two-goal lead at home against Dunbar Westside courtesy of goals from Chris Pitman and Jason Prades, but the Swindon side fought back with Ricky Hewittson converting a penalty, a header from Craig Roberts and the first goal of the season from John Dart giving them a 4-2 win.

Also in the section Castrol and Down Ampney drew 0-0.

Marlborough's reserves continued their good run in the Junior Division, beating visitors West Swindon by 6-1.

Leading 3-1 at the break with two goals from Alan Harvey and one from Brad Mildon, the home side struck again after the interval, Harvey completing his hattrick, Adie Cripps and Jonathan Maslin adding further goals.

Paul Furlong notched up his 10th goal in five games when he netted twice in Down Ampney Reserves 3-2 win over Ferndale Rodbourne, Nick Stevenson scoring the other with a 40- yarder. Richard Hayne and Terry Bown netted for Ferndale.

Dunbar Westside and Castrol Reserves shared six goals in an exciting game at Foxhill, Mike Wilson and Dave Amey for Dunbar and Gareth Parry, Adie O'Driscoll and Mike Giddings for Castrol.

At Wanborough the home side ran out 2-0 winners over Wootton Bassett A, the goals coming in the second half from Tony Fry and Steve Jones.
