CHRISTMAS means pantomime and pantomime means Christmas.
No festive celebrations are complete in Bath without a visit to the theatre, but the last thing you want to be stuck with, especially after a visit to the bar, is a leaky bladder.
Luckily the Theatre Royal at Sawclose has toilets on every level, should you suddenly find yourself caught short during its current production of Aladdin: ideal for that flying visit, allowing plenty of time to get back before everyone shouts 'he's behind you!'
Of course, it isn't just the quality of the acting that makes a night out at the theatre so memorable you also need a decent toilet to make your evening enjoying the dramatic arts complete.
So, we peeked into the ladies toilets in the Royal Circle to see just how 'royal' they are...
Opening times: From the moment you enter to the time you jump out your seat at the final curtain, you can be assured of an unlocked loo.
Number of cubicles: Three.
Washing/drying facilities: An unusually clean looking roller towel, good enough to dry your soaked mitts on. But do remember to remove your white evening gloves first, of course.
Bouquet: Divine. Although, as members of the press, we were given exclusive access during the day when the toilets don't experience heavy usage, the elegant scent fitted the immaculate surroundings. A joy to walk into.
Cleanliness: Absolutely
spotless. Leave your wellies at home or in the Gods at least and whip out your best shoes without fear.
Lighting: Fine, just fine.
Decor: No pretentious golden handles here after all, this isn't the Queen's bathroom but there is a minimal design with turquoise and white which does the trick. Hotel standard.
Worth visiting?: Perfect for that quick visit as your little ones shriek with panto-induced delight.
