YOUNG entrepreneurs from Swindon secondary schools were attempting to make their fortunes at a trade fair in the town.
The event took place at the Nationwide Building Society, Pipers Way, and featured stands from six local secondary schools, competing for the Young Enterprise North Wiltshire title.
Uplands Special School had the tuck trolley, Ridgeway's business idea combined squidgy pens and website design, Kingsdown were selling candles and Greendown's pottery business was called Potluck.
Commonweal School entered three teams in the competition: CT20 selling cards, tee-shirts and bags, Budz selling candles and web design team G-Tech.
Churchfields School took first prize impressing judges with their business idea of selling seasonal goods for Christmas, Easter and Valentine's Day.
Teacher Sue Rai said judges were particularly impressed with the business planning shown by the eight-strong team of 15 and 16-year-olds.
She said: "They were ecstatic to win and quite surprised."
