THE call to march in protest against the proposed increase in council tax (Letter, Mrs Fell, Dec 13), will probably fall upon deaf ears.
There are too few of us directly affected to have much impact and, besides, it is not our way to take to the streets.
I suggest that Swindon pensioners do as I do in protest. Refuse to pay council taxes by direct debit and then withhold payment for one or two weeks each month. Councils will be hard pushed to chase us all.
