WHEN I read the front page of the Evening Advertiser on Monday December 10, I thought: Well done to all councillors.
No longer will people be able to say that Swindon Council is an out-of-date, out-of-touch council. With modern computer kit to hand, councillors will be able to communicate with each other and be more available to the public via e-mail, especially the youngsters and their schools.
They can also keep up to date with information researched on the internet. This was a brave action, taken by the whole council, which will save time, as well as telephone, postage and photocopying costs. (These costs were the front page issue in the Evening Advertiser on Saturday October 27, 2001).
Swindon Council knows that investment in people is the key to success.
