ANYONE else overjoyed at the prospect of a Friday night trip to Notts County?

I have always loathed such arrangements and the reason for switching this fixture from its Saturday slot is just shameful.

At first I thought television was to blame.

If that had been the case at least the club would have got a few quid out of it.

But no ladies and gentleman, it is nothing to do with television.

Christmas shopping is the reason!

Hello??? Christmas shopping. I cannot believe it. What on earth is going on?

Surely, Saturday football exists to prevent such activity?

With shops open all day on Sunday and Christmas Eve being on a Monday, there's plenty of time to shop.

In fact, Saturday is the worst day to go shopping. It's absolutely heaving.

You're seriously stressed after five minutes.

Apparently, the Meadow Lane club did a similar thing last year and were happy with the attendance.

Well, it's just not good enough.

It might benefit some County fans but I don't see how it helps the Town following.

People will have to take time off from work and disrupt their Friday evening plans.

Apart from the pathetic Christmas shopping excuse, I just don't like Friday football.

Friday is all about the anticipation of Saturday afternoon.

If you play on Friday night and lose then the weekend is ruined.

Even if you win, it's not the same.

Let's get up there, get three points, get home and hope we don't have to suffer the same nonsense next year.
