MUM Carolyn Iles has spoken of her pain and grief after her former partner was found guilty of the manslaughter of their baby daughter.
She says she can never forgive 30-year-old Mark Stephenson, who shook their child so violently that she was left blind and deaf.
Little Sacha Iles was three months old when she was left severely brain damaged and died four months later.
Miss Iles, now 24, says she will never forgive Stephenson, of Saxon Close, Cricklade. He is in jail awaiting sentencing after his conviction at Bristol Crown Court for manslaughter.
She said: "I don't think I'll ever be able to understand why it happened to my little baby or come to terms with it. And I won't let myself forgive Mark."
Miss Iles described how doctors told her that Sacha would not survive in the long term, but said she never gave up hope.
She said: "I do believe miracles happen. Even though I was told she would die you can never prepare yourself for when it eventually does."
In the last weeks before Sacha died, Miss Iles learned from medical staff how to administer the treatment to keep her baby alive and took her home to care for her herself.
