MALMESBURY Bowls Club is on course to complete a £2,500 project to clear the green at its Baskerville site following the floods in October last year.
Silt forced down the river valley by flood water clogged drainage pipes underneath the green, causing the surface to become uneven.
The club has financed the work through insurance and a loan from the Wiltshire Bowling Association, over two years.
Treasurer Bob Roberts-Phare said work, being carried out by greenkeeper George Park with help from club members, should be completed next month, in time for the start of the season in April.
"This will re-establish confidence in Malmesbury Bowls Club's green," said Mr Roberts-Phare, who added that the green was played on over the summer but was it was not at its best.
"Anyone who is a bowler and has been a bowler for a number of years would realise that something was wrong."
The club has around 80 members, playing in men's and women's leagues against teams from Wiltshire and the Cotswolds.
It is planning to have an open day in May or June, when anyone interested in the sport can go along and try their hand at the game.
