MALMESBURY Primary School pupils are making sure they are front page news.
The school, which has launched its own newspaper, The Primary School Post, is celebrating the news that three 20-year-old mobiles will be knocked down and a £322,000 classroom block built in their place.
The news was broken by the school's own newspaper and it is hoped that the demolition of the mobiles will take place next year.
Wiltshire County Council and North Wiltshire District Council have given the school permission to knock down the oldest three of its six mobiles.
The school hopes that the new classroom block will include an IT suite.
In the second edition of the Primary School Post the intrepid reporters spoke to staff and pupils about the prospect of a new building and all the comments were favourable.
Headteacher Jeff Staton said the newspaper was an ideal way of making sure everyone in the school community knew what was happening.
The second edition has proved a major success and new ideas are flooding in to the young editorial team.
Mr Staton said the next edition was probably going to be even bigger. "We are certainly going to keep it going and the team will be looking at enhancing it now the children have come forward with new ideas," he said.
