A SENIOR contact lens optician at Specsavers Opticians in Swindon, has scooped two highly acclaimed prizes for her contact lens honours diploma paper.
Adele Peacock, 31, won £250 for best mark in a contact lens honours paper and the TA Doyle Memorial Prize for best mark in an honours paper from the Association of British Dispensing Opticians.
Adele started the contact lens honours diploma course in May of 2000, and completed a combination of home study and on the job training in May this year.
Adele said: "I have been working at Specsavers in Swindon since February 1999. It has given me great experience as it is a large practice and has many patients.
"I have had the chance to see first hand a number of conditions which I wouldn't have been able to see if I had worked in a smaller practice."
David Grieves, director of Specsavers Opticians in Swindon says: "Adele has done brilliantly to complete her contact lens honours diploma, but to receive an award for the best mark overall is a real achievement.
"It is great news for myself and our customers to have such a talented contact lens optician working in Swindon."
