THERE was a blend of song, dance and comedy in store for the 60 senior citizens who accepted an invitation to a party at Pewsey Vale School on Friday organised by the Year 8 students.

The students presented a cabaret style show. They filled their programme with singing, dancing and repartee for the pensioners.

The school also arranged transport for the pensioners.

Head of year, Vicci Hay, said: "The catering matched the quality of the entertainment, and the decorations in the hall were superb."

The party and the entertainment were o-ordinated by Mrs Hay with Mrs Barbara Reader in charge of students who did all the catering, Mrs Linda Murray in charge of the entertainment, and Mr Neil Ouldridge who supervised the decorating of the hall. Other teachers helped with planning the event as well.

Many parents donated prizes for a free raffle for the OAP guests.

Mrs Hay said: "The greatest thanks has to be given to the members of Year 8 who made the whole afternoon so memorable.

As well as good food and entertainment there was also a lovely feeling of a group pulling together, working together, achieving together and creating something very special, something that can be treasured by the young and old alike," Mrs Hay said.
