A DEVIZES driver Matthew Bywater, who is charged with motoring offences after a road accident in which Paul Ridout of Little Cheverell died, is due to stand trial in January.
Bywater, of New Park Street, denies careless driving, failing to stop after an accident and failing to report an accident.
The charges relate to an accident which happened on October 16 2000 on the A361 near Bishops Cannings.
Mr Ridout, a 29-year-old builder, was driving a Porsche and an inquest into his death in May heard he was driving at between 90 and 100mph when the collision with the Ford Mondeo, allegedly driven by Bywater, 37, occurred.
Following the collision the Porsche flipped through the air and crashed into a field.
Bywater's trial is due to be held from January 8 to 11 at Devizes Magistrates Court.
