THURSDAY December 20 is the last chance for people to experience the magic of Narnia at John Bentley School's latest production of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

The performance will be the first production involving the whole school since students acted out their version of The Young Ones back in 1997.

It started as an idea in the summer and more than 70 students have moved through a hectic rehearsal schedule in order to perfect their production.

Drama teacher, Blayne Cooper, said: "Every one of them has put in so much time and effort to make this production a real high point of the school year."

"There are no small roles in this production."

Mr Cooper has had to juggle directing rehearsals with the demands of his family.

He paid tribute to his wife Clare for supporting him and helping with costume design.

"A special mention must go to my 10-month-old son Tayte, who has had to put up with his cuddly bear when he goes to bed instead of his cuddly dad," he said.

Tonight's will be the last of four performances.

Ticket can be obtained from the school on (01249) 818100.
