HILLS Waste has applied to build a household recycling centre at its site at Compton Bassett, near Calne.
Hills also wants to extend its composting facilities and a build small extension at the top of the site. Mike Webster, Hill's waste management director, said if successful, the centre could be running by next summer.
He said it would be similar in size to a facility in operation at Stanton St Quintin, and is part of a contract with Wiltshire County Council to provide for recycling.
"We are setting up a series of these household recycling centres in Wiltshire and this is the latest one," said Mr Webster.
Hills, which deals with much of Swindon's waste, already operate a landfill site at Compton Bassett.
