A HOMELESS charity in Salisbury has published figures showing a big increase in the number of people who have needed its help this year.
Alabar Christian Care Centres' four hostels have accommodated 239 individuals, 29 families and 41 children - a 20 per cent increase on last year.
"Every year it goes up," said general manager Steve Godwin.
"National figures may show fewer street homeless, but these do not take account of the hidden homeless - the people who would not be on the streets but in temporary accommodation."
