YOUNG rugby players showed off their packing skills last weekend.
Twenty boys, who are in the under 12s Chippenham rugby team, spent their day at Sainsbury's supermarket in Chippenham and packed bags for shoppers.
The players raised more then £700 and this will be put into their fund for a mini rugby tour in South Wales next March.
Parent and organiser of the grand pack, Jacqui Boddington, said nothing had been broken and shoppers had greeted the boys with great relief.
"It was really, really busy and everyone said how helpful the boys were. We certainly kept the queues down at the tills. I think people appreciate seeing kids doing something for themselves rather than relying on their parents all the time."
The under 12s will be pitting their skills against Welsh youngsters during the three-day tour next year.
Squad members need to raise more than £3,000 for the trip and they have been helped out by parents to get reach their target.
There have been cake stalls and soup for sale on match days; Smartie tubes have been filled with 20 pence's (each containing £15) and a Christmas raffle raised about £150.
