SCREWFIX DIRECT LEAGUE: PREMIER Division Elmore were in control for most of this Les Phillips Cup game although Warminster battled and defended well at times.
Warminster welcomed Sam Naish back from university and he proved to be Warminster's best player on the day giving Elmore problems when attacking down the right, forcing Elmore goalkeeper Gary Lewis to save twice. After 25 minutes Elmore had a corner which resulted in Kevin Sparey clearing the header off the line.
Elmore took the lead in the 32nd minute when following a quick attack Nick Woon chipped the ball into the far corner.
A minute before half-time the ball went into the net of Keith Ball following a fierce cross by Damon Palfrey.
Early in the second half, Chris Woon scored the third after a save from Lloyd Chamberlain went straight to him. Chamberlain made further fine saves from Chaplin and Nick Woon before substitute Mark Robinson volleyed home the fourth. Damon Palfrey netted the fifth in the 85th minute after skipping past two defenders.
On Saturday 22 December, Warminster host Ilfracombe Town kick off 3pm and on Boxing Day travel to Frome Town for a noon kick off.
