SCREWFIX DIRECT LEAGUE: MELKSHAM bounced back from last week's FA Vase exit with a 7-0 hammering of First Division strugglers Wellington in the second round of the Les Phillips Cup.
After a sluggish start, Dean Ranger opened the floodgates with the home side's first goal of the afternoon on 28 minutes. Matty Messenger nodded the second before the interval and brother Justin fired home number three on 54 minutes.
Matty Messenger netted his second on the hour and Melksham could even afford the luxury of a missed Jeremy Christopher penalty before Matty Bown bagged two in a minute to stretch the lead to six.
Bown completed his hat-trick late on after Wellington had missed a penalty.
