ROYAL Mail staff are helping charity during the Christmas rush.
A team from Consignia in Dorcan have collected 10 kilos of soon-to-be useless European currency to help the Prospect Hospice.
John Pile, an industrial engineer with the Royal Mail, helped start the collection. He said: "There are lots of people in the sorting office who are very charity-minded. We just thought we wouldsupport this charity, which is popular with staff.
"It is a great way to get rid of your foreign currency which will soon become useless anyway."
Employees Kathy Brown, Sharon Dance, John Fry and Pat Viggers helped collect the money.
The money has gone to Prospect Hospice, which would welcome any more donations of EC currencies.
