SWINDON Town players took an afternoon off training to visit sick children at Princess Margaret Hospital.
Fresh from hearing the news that they were losing manager Roy Evans, they toured the children's ward at the hospital.
Scott Woodward, 13, from Swindon, met his hero Gareth Davies during the afternoon.
He said: "It has been really good to meet the players. I am in here because I broke a leg playing in a five-a-side football match."
Gareth, who also visited PMH last year, said the visits were an important part of being a footballer.
He said: "We are in a privileged position. So many kids look up to us, and it is our job to help in the community. You can't buy a smile, it is priceless."
Gareth was joined by team-mates Danny Invincible, Dave Duke, Alan Young and Giuliano Grazioli, along with team community representative John Holloway.
