PARENTS in the North Bradley area are celebrating a number of new donations for their project to create a new children's play area.
The North Bradley Park Action Group has been awarded £2,700 from the Foundation for Sport, a grant it applied for more than a year ago.
Other good news includes a successful Christmas ball in the village which raised £250 and the group has received £500 from the Joyce Fletcher charity, which helps child-related projects.
Pauline Baxter, of the Park Action Group, said: "It has been worth the wait. We have done very well.
"We are hoping the project will be complete in a couple of years, and we have already installed some of the equipment.
"In total we have probably raised about £16,000 which isn't bad for a committee of five. "
The group is holding a children's Christmas disco in the Peace Memorial Hall on December 22 at 6pm.
