A JURY has heard how a short cut home after a night out on the town ended when Gregor McPherson was robbed by two men.
The victim was attacked by Mohammed Elmi and a 16-year-old accomplice near the County Ground, the court heard.
After following him across the recreation ground, the two men approached him and snatched his chain and wallet from his back pocket.
Mr McPherson, who used to live on County Road, said he had been to a party in Old Town on March 31, as he was moving to Oxford.
He and about six friends then went to Mission nightclub where they stayed until closing time. He walked a friend to Queens Drive before cut ting through a path by the County Ground.
He said one of the men tried to grab his wallet and he lashed out to protect himself. The man who took the wallet dropped it 20 yards away having taken £20, he said.
Elmi, of Hanwell, London, and the teenager, deny robbery. The case continues.
