NOTTS COUNTY keeper Steve Mildenhall is already fending off Swindon Town attacks before a ball has been kicked at Meadow Lane tonight.

The current Evening Advertiser player of the year is struggling with a sprained left ankle which could yet keep him out of the game.

But the big keeper is not getting any sympathy from his former team mates. Mildenhall said: "I've already had a few phone calls from the Swindon lads after they heard about my injury.

"They're all saying I'm scared to play and just making it up.

"I know they're only joking but I'm desperate to play."

Mildy has been receiving intensive treatment all week in a bid to get fit.

He said: "I'll be having treatment right up to the last possible moment.

"Being a Swindon lad, you never want the Town to lose but we really need the three points.

"I don't imagine losing Roy Evans will help Swindon but having been there myself I know that you just have to be professional and get on with the job.

"You can't influence what happens off the pitch."

Mildy is the first to admit that his move to Meadow Lane in the summer has not gone quite the way he had expected.

County are currently in the bottom four and are on a dreadful run.

They have not won in the league for 14 matches.

But that run has to end some time and Town will have to work hard to make sure they are not the victims.

On paper, County have a quality line-up. Leading scorer Danny Allsop has already netted 16 times while Darren Caskey pulls the strings in midfield.

Ticket prices for the clash have been reduced and are as follows: £10 (adults), concessions (£5) and those aged 15 or under get in free.
