THE NEW register of members' interests reveals that Swindon's two MPs have got relatively little to declare.

All MPs are compelled to sign the register and record any outside earnings they receive (in addition to their £48,000 a year salaries).

Labour MP for South Swindon, Julia Drown, records that she receives up to £1,000 as a member of the Harris Parliamentary Panel. She also received £1,000 from the Political Animal Lobby Society towards the costs of her constituency work because of her record on animal welfare.

Mrs Drown received a donation of £1,000 in 2001 from her uncle John Harris towards her constituency party.

Michael Wills, Labour Mp for North Swindon, received the following donations in 2001 towards his constituency campaign fund: £4,100 from the Transport and General Workers Union and £2,000 from the Oxford and Swindon Co-operative Society.

He also recorded that he receives a rental income from commercial premises which he owns in north west London.
