TOWN'S Danny Invincible believes the Cherries are not as fresh as they were last season.

Aided by the goals of Jermain Defoe, Bournemouth missed a play-off place by a whisker last year.

However, the youngster's return to West Ham and a period of exile at Dorchester has seen the Cherries struggle to put together any sort of form.

Town's Aussie striker is adamant that Andy King's side can pick up three points on Boxing Day.

He said: "I don't think Bournemouth are as strong as they were last season.

"That's not showing them any disrespect but with the players we've got, we have to get at them.

"We have done better at home this year. Let's get the ball down and play some decent passing football.

"It's important we get back to playing in the way we know we can.

"The break we had after missing the Huddersfield game didn't seem to help judging by our performance at Notts County.

"But with a new gaffer in charge, we have to dust ourselves down and start again.

"It has been a big shake-up but let's try and not let it damage our season."

Invincible celebrated last year's Boxing Day fixture with a thunderbolt of a strike against Brentford.

He knows a repeat would provide the long-suffering Town fans with a late Christmas present.

He said: "That goal was the last before I scored against Peterborough United and I don't want such a big gap between goals again."
