TWO men who jumped into the River Avon to save a man from drowning have been commended by the Royal Humane Society.
Craig Hiscott, 25, and Edward Pickering, 23, spotted the man floating face down in Pulteney Weir at 11.45pm on March 31 this year.
They jumped into the weir and swam more than 20 feet to drag the unconscious 25-year-old Bath man back to the bank.
The two men, from Bath and Chippenham respectively, received their awards at a ceremony at Avon and Somerset Constabulary Police headquarters.
