PARTYGOERS can really sparkle at that New Year's Eve bash thanks to the latest fad in nail fashion.
A salon in Old Town has been flooded with requests for acrylic nail extensions.
Style conscious people are clamouring for shimmering looks finished with diamantes and other sparkling jewels.
Others are requesting coloured polish to match their outfits, and some still favour the classic French manicure.
Senior beauty therapist, Tiffany Hicks of West One, said acrylics are the perfect antidote to chewed and bitten nails over Christmas.
She said: "At this time of year people, especially young people really want to look their best and that means taking care of the smaller details like nails."
It takes up to two hours to apply the nails and they can be filed to any shape or length.
The finished product can last up to three months, but customers may be required to return to the salon for in-fills depending on how fast their natural nails grow.
Prices start from £35 and there are still a few appointments available before New Year's Eve.
