ON behalf of the Lions Club of Bradford on Avon may I extend our thanks to the people of Bradford on Avon and surrounding villages for their support for our Christmas float appeal.
Over the past three weeks their generosity has enabled us to exceed our previous record collection, reaching a wonderful total of £2,635. This has helped finance over 100 Christmas hampers for some of the less fortunate members of our community and will also be used to put on a lunch for senior residents.
We are indebted, in particular: Anthony Best Dynamics Ltd, Cumberwell Park Golf Club and Leigh Park Hotel, Our four superb drivers, David Edwards, Paul Filer, Norman Metcalfe and Ken Price, All those who helped in the collection and, of course, Father Christmas .
May I also thank those who helped with the Christmas tree, especially Sparky (of Frome Road, Bradford on Avon) and Bradford on Avon TIC for providing the electricity.
JUDITH HERSEE,
President, Lions Club, Bradford of Avon.
