I WONDERED if I might use your columns to thank those who contributed to the children's Christmas party at the Melksham Homelessness Hostel?
Once again, the contribution of food, crackers and balloons from Tesco store in Trowbridge was stunning. In particular an employee there called Edith made sandwiches and cakes beyond excellence.
The Lions Club of Melksham, the Lions Club of Trowbridge and the West Wiltshire Housing Society gave financial support towards the cost of Kookie the Clown who entertained the children wonderfully.
The Oval Garage of Westbury collected good quality wrapped gifts for Santa's sack and staff and officers from various bodies helped on the day.
MFI and Sainsbury's gave raffle prizes and a district councillor made sure that Santa arrived on time.
In particular, I would like to thank the residents and staff at the Kingsbury Square hostel.
FRAN LEWIS,
Manager, Splitz.
