Swindon shoppers are being warned to take back hot dog sausages to branches of Adsa and Lidl after stocks were found to be contaminated with bacteria.
Customers complained that the sausages, made in the Netherlands by the Struik food group, smelt foul, fizzed and that the cans exploded on opening.
The products involved are Dulano and Chira hot dog sausages in 400g cans from batches with a best-before date of September 2004 and Smart Price hot dog sausages in 400g cans from batches with a best-before date of September 2003. These should be returned to the shops where they were bought.
