The long-running saga of Devizes's derelict Assize Courts could be nearing its end after the owner, Gatewell Limited, applied for planning permission to convert it into 20 flats.
The courts have lain empty since the county council sold them off to developers in 1987.
Failed planning applications to date have included housing, offices, a night club, a gym and an arts centre.
