HELEN Dorling, of South Cerney Riding School, has walked away with a top award for coaching disabled performers across Gloucestershire.
Helen was recognised at the Gloucestershire Coach of the Year Awards, for her efforts and contribution to disability sport in the county.
She was nominated by fellow colleagues at the riding school.
Helen works tirelessly in helping over 60 riders a week take part in the school, based in Cerney Wick. She has worked there over the last 30 years.
Alison Usher, sports development officer for the Cotswold Water Park praised Helen's outstanding contribution to her sport and to her work to promote horse riding within the water park.
"Helen is a great ambassador for the sport and is well known for her commitment to the school," she said. "Helen not only offers riding for the disabled but offers fantastic opportunities for all to get involved in horse riding.
"The Coach of the Year awards provide an opportunity for this achievement to be recognised and I would like to congratulate Helen on her award."
Helen won the award despite stiff competition from others demonstrating outstanding commitment to disability sport, including Peter Bisson from Whitefriars Sailing for the Disabled who has been involved in offering opportunities for disability sailing for more than 16 years. Peter received a certificate recognising his commitment and contribution to disability sailing.
