ALAN REEVES is well aware that supporters are frustrated by Roy Evans' departure from the County Ground but the skipper hopes three points against Bury will go some way to appeasing them.

The Town skipper was one of those who urged Evans to stay but he believes longing for 'what might have been' will not help Swindon Town progress up the table.

He said: "I can understand why some of them are upset and that maybe they have had enough of all the goings-on behind the scenes. But we have to get on with it now.

"We have to get behind the new manager. What's gone is gone.

"The fans pay their money week-in and week-out and are perfectly entitled to their say.

"But as players, all we're focused on is getting out there against Bury tomorrow and picking up three very important league points.

"That will please the players, the manager and hopefully the supporters as well.

"Although the Bournemouth result wasn't the best, I think it is something to build on. Certainly the first half performance was decent enough, all it lacked was a goal."

Town's disciplinary record is starting to look rather messy and while Reeves does not want Town to lose their competitive edge but is also mindful of the need to finish the Bury clash with 11 men still on the pitch.

Andy King's side have received five red cards this season and the skipper knows that suspensions in a small squad is a bad news.

However, he believes there is a fine line between committed play and falling foul of the referee.

He said: "Some players are different to others.

"If you take a little bit of edge or the aggressiveness out of their game then they're not the same player.

"People like Andy Gurney are whole-hearted 100 per cent players who give everything.

"Of course, no-one wants to see people sent off and suspended but sometimes football is a battle.

"But these things happen in football. You can argue all day about whether players should or should not have been sent off. I keep saying it but you've just go to get on with it."

The Town End for a Tenner scheme will not be operating for tomorrow's game as all adult tickets are £5.
