TRIBUTES have been paid to an 18-year-old who died in a road accident along with a 21-year-old passenger from South Cerney.
Ryan Preston, 18, of North Home Road, Cirencester, died after the Vauxhall Nova he was driving was involved in a collision near Salterley Grange on Leckhampton Hill near Cheltenham.
Ryan was pronounced dead at the scene and a passenger, Tony Hayward, 21, of Field Close, South Cerney, died in hospital. An inquest has been opened and adjourned into both deaths.
Ryan's mother, Lynn, described her son as a "fun-loving, happy-go-lucky boy who lived life to the full."
Two other 18-year-olds in the Nova were taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening.
The 76-year-old male driver of the other vehicle, a Subaru Forrester, from Latton, Wiltshire, and his passenger, a 53-year-old Cirencester woman, were treated for bruising and shock.
An investigation has been launched into the accident which took place last Thursday night.
Ryan worked as a trainee chef at Hunters Care Home near Cirencester.
