Matt Rawlins was Chippenham Town's goalscoring hero for the second successive Saturday.
Hot-shot Rawlins grabbed the only goal of the game against chief title rivals Halesowen last week, and reproduced the feat against a stubborn Stourport Swifts side on Saturday.
After a drab first half it was always going to take something special to break the deadlock, and former Arsenal man Rawlins produced the goods on 53 minutes.
Steve Brown fired over a right-wing cross, and Rawlins ghosted in at the near post before steering a delicate angled volley into the roof of the net.
The Bluebirds were far from convincing, but were still good value for the win.
James Bent and Steve Tweddle both wasted opportunities to put the game beyond doubt, but Rawlins' solitary moment of magic proved enough.
"The first half was very poor, and lacking inspiration,'' said Town boss Tommy Saunders.
"But we deserved it in the end because we were much the better side in the second half.''
Halesowen also triumphed, so Tommy Saunders' team remain three points behind the leaders with a game in hand.
Saunders added: "The other top teams have all won as well, so it looks like it's going to go to the wire.''
The win completes a wonderful calendar year for the Bluebirds, who lost just seven times in 60 outings during 2001.
