A MAN wielding a gun tried to rob an office at Salisbury railway station on Monday.
The man wheeled his bicycle into the station just after 11am, went to the island between platforms two and three and knocked on the door of an office used by Rail Gourmet, which provides refreshments on trains.
When a supervisor unlocked the door, the man pointed a gun at him and told him to get into the office.
But the supervisor pushed the man in the chest, got him out of the office, slammed the door and locked it from the inside.
The would-be robber got on his bike and was last seen pedalling through the underpass.
