CINEMA is returning to Corsham for the first time in 20 years. Plans are underway to set up a film society in the town.
The society is being launched with a special one-off free screening of romantic western The Claim next month at The Pound.
The aim is to form a committee after the screening to run the society.
Pound spokesman Gale Curry said: "We haven't had a cinema in Corsham for 20 years.
"There is a network of film societies and the idea is to get on the circuit and have films here in Corsham.
"We are hoping to get a committee formed and to be part of the film circuit by the autumn."
The society network works by centres hiring in the DVD equipment for a certain night once or twice a month.
The special screening, on April 6, is on a first-come-first-served basis and is restricted to 100 people. It starts at 7.30pm.
