STYLISTS from a Swindon hair salon are hoping to head to New York for a special photo shoot.
Creating a hair collection on location in the US city is the top prize in the national L'Oreal Colour Trophy Awards.
And JJ's Hair Group, which has salons in Crombey Street and Old Town, Swindon, and Cirencester, is in the running by winning through to the regional final in Bristol next week.
JJ's beat off stiff competition from photographic entries from hundreds of salons to get to the heats, being held at the Bristol Marriott on Monday.
The team included Hayley Bisset, Jess Hebdon and model Craig Gardener.
Salons nationwide are battling to get to the finals in London in May. Their brief is to create a visionary street style incorporating sensational styling with innovation.
Hayley, manager of the Old Town salon, who styled the hair, said: "We've created a mullet mohawk fusion.
"It's more edgy than a normal mens cut but would suit the confident, clubby type.
"Jess has coloured it with gold, burgundy and coppers to bring out the varieties of length.''
