UNITED produced a much-improved display against the best footballing side in the league.
Nick Thorne was back in the team and he almost opened the scoring after just two minutes but saw his header saved.
Team Bath played excellent football throughout but, to their credit, United contributed some fine passing and moves of their own.
Mark Batters denied Mark Lewis on 11 minutes when be blocked a shot and from the resulting corner Paul Tisdale shot wide.
United attacked and Toby Colbourne found space on the edge of the box, enabling him to volley the ball just over the bar.
The first goal came after 33 minutes. Lee Richardson received the ball 30 yards from goal and drove a stunning shot past Batters into the top left-hand corner. The score remained 1-0 at the break.
The home side dominated the early stages of the second half and on 52 minutes they doubled their lead when Sullivan tapped in a close- range rebound after Batters had blocked Richardson's shot.
United tried to get back into the game but Team Bath kept them at bay without threatening a third goal.
