I was gratified to read Peter Chalke's letter on the Sodexho luncheon clubs' meals saga in last week's Wiltshire Times.
It must be nine months since I first raised this issue at County Hall. At last the Conservative administration is starting to acknowledge all is not well with its privatisation of meal provision.
The pity is it has taken correspondence in the local press to get matters moving, especially as I have previously and repeatedly drawn attention to these shortcomings at county council meetings and in discussions with, and written requests to, the appropriate officers. Apparently the power of the press is paramount. Perhaps we should now make even more use of the Letters' Page to persuade Peter Chalke to come clean on his plans for the County Record Office.

County Councillor,
