STUDENTS at Wiltshire College, Lackham did a strip with a difference on Wednesday, March 20.
The 11 agricultural engineering students stripped and rebuilt and refurbished a tractor in 24 hours for Larkrise Community Farm in Trowbridge.
Larkrise provides hands-on farm experience for young people with learning difficulties.
There are about 30 students using the farm each week and the 28-year-old Massey Ferguson 135 tractor is a vital piece of machinery.
It is needed for general farm maintenance and to give rides to visitors to help raise money.
Farm manager Wendy Sels said: "It will be a great help to us to get the tractor back in the condition it will be in."
The complete overhaul and new parts would have cost £4,500 without the help of the college and event sponsors, including Massey Ferguson UK and Lister Wilde of Calne.
Lecturer Mike O'Sullivan said: "We had a few problems with the engine at first but after that it all went well."
