TALENTED young musician Danielle Jalowiecki has been signed up to play at one of the region's biggest festivals after winning her college's top music prize.
The Year 10 student at Trowbridge's St Augustine's Catholic College won last week's Young Musician of the Year award at the Wiltshire Music Centre in Bradford on Avon.
The treble recorder player was one of nine musicians competing and she played Chopin's Variations on Non Piu Mesta by Rossini.
Danielle was appearing in the final for the fourth time, having won the Most Promising Performance cup on two previous occasions and also reached the semi-finals of this year's competition in the vocal category.
Following her latest win, she has been signed up by Iford Arts to perform at this year's Iford Manor Festival in July.
Runner up in the St Augustine's competition was new student Stephanie Holland. The violin player started at the college in September after moving from Blackpool with her family.
Winner of the cup for the most promising performance was flautist Tess Barker.
All nine finalists will be performing at next month's Edington Priory Recital.
