TOWN director Bob Holt has said the club's rescue package is almost in place but hopes fans will remain patient for just a while longer.
Holt was in London yesterday for a final round of legal meetings before the directors go public with 'the way forward.'
An announcement was widely expected yesterday but nothing is now likely to materialise until late today and that is by no means certain.
Holt said: "I know supporters are anxious for news but we have to make sure everything is as it should be before we make our intentions known."
If the remaining issues can be ironed out, it leaves the way clear for major shareholder Sir Seton Wills to invest an initial £1 million to secure the short-term future of the club.
However, the board will then have to examine how the lengthy list of creditors will be paid off.
Whatever the strategy, it will be implemented over a three-year period.
Salvation will come at a price for supporters with season tickets increasing for the start of 2002/3.
TWO of Town's postponed reserve fixtures have now been rearranged.
The second string travel to Gillingham on Monday, March 25 (2pm) and will entertain Crystal Palace on Monday, April 15 (2pm).
A date has yet to be agreed for the home game with Brentford.
