Fishing was extremely hard in the Wilts Angling Open match at Bullocks Farm and weights were poor.
Bradford matchman Ian Willetts took top spot on the day with an all-crucian carp catch of 7lb 5oz. Trowbridge matchman Fred Eagles was second with a mixed catch of roach and goldfish weighing 5lb 8oz taken on pole fished fluorescent pinkies on a 22 hook.
There was a tie for third place between Trowbridge's Neil Hounsell and Westbury matchman Mike Withey, both with weights of 4lb 8oz. Hounsell took a mixed catch of roach and skimmers, while Withey took a carp catch.
Other placings: 5. Pete Neate Holt 4 lb 4 oz; 6. Andy Collins Chippenham 3 lb 14 oz.
