An exhibition of sculpture and drawings by Eric Stanford was due to be opened by Lord Kennet today (Friday).
The exhibition is running in the Art Gallery at the Wiltshire Heritage Museum, Devizes, from tomorrow until May 18.
Eric Stanford began stone carving as a student, during which time he was introduced to Eric Kennington, and became his assistant.
Although trained in most of the forms of sculpture, carving stone has remained central to Eric Stanford's work.
Eric has undertaken many private and public commissions, most recently the Devizes Millennium Cross, in St. John's churchyard. He specialises in human figures with classical mythology often providing the theme.
He has lived in Devizes since 1991 and is a member of the board of trustees of the Wiltshire Archaeological and Natural History Society.
